Thanks guys. I'll have to apply a bit of putty between the pilot and the shell and I see some of the steps are a little crooked. I was going to drill and tap the pilot to the frame, but instead epoxied it.

Doug, the pilot requires a space to flatten out the frame to mount the pilot and to level it out. I should have ground that down some before gluing.

Learning curve you know.

Hi Ron

I'm having a heck of a time getting the trucks off the powered unit. I've removed the screw on the bottom of the truck that looks like it's the one that screws into the bottom of the motor but the truck won't budge. I have to be missing some other screws that are holding the trucks on. Any ideas?

It has been a long time since I did this and don't remember precisely. I remember removing screws on the top of the truck as well. Oh, look up a bit  thers is a picture of the power truck apart. You'll notice the screws that pass from the top of the truck to the electrical pickups below must be removed. Then it falls apart. You may have to remove the rupper around the openings forward and rear of the motor.

Let me know how you did.

Changed my mind about taking it in for repair and gave it a shot myself. Got the trucks off, Ron thanks for the tip on the 2 screws on the top! Got those guys off and then the one screw on the bottom, truck came right off. As a few of Ron's pictures show, there's 2 sets of gears, one of those sets are binding up. Got a screw driver under one of the gears that was binding loosened it up a bit and there you go problem solved.
