I just fired up a PS-2 steam engine which was sleeping for quite a while in my display case.  The sounds came on promptly and the engine runs like a dream.  However the choo-choo sound goes away for about forty feet or so then come back on again in another 40 feet or so.

With the choo-choo sound gone the conductor sound requesting tickets is still occurring??

I also noticed that when ever I increase the throttle the sounds immediately return for another 40' or so.

I am guessing I have a weak battery, correct?

No clickity clack on this steam engine, just intermittent choo-choo sounds.

However, on an four car mu set the clickity clack does the same thing, intermittent sounds every 40 feet or so.

Both the mu car set and the steam engine run very well through out their speed range.

I only have Z-1000 capability. Is there a way to address these two situations with a Z-1000?

Thank you for your comments.
