I have a new Lionel Virginian Berkshire engine; when running with TMCC control, it stops intermittently with no prompting from the controller (I use only power bricks so no conventional operation is available). By simply advancing the speed dial on the Cab1, the train will start moving again in the same direction it was traveling before the unplanned stop. There does not appear to be any loss of electricity at the points where this occurs; I have 16 other TMCC engines that do not experience this problem (nor do my two DCS engines). Any suggestions for troubleshooting this problem?  Thanks, Var

Gents:  thanks to all of you for your suggestions - I will have to wait a while to try to leverage these ideas (company tonight and then going out of town).  Several things in response to comments:

1)  the place that it typically stops is below a bridge so that does lend credence to the points raised by many of you.  Unfortunately, it is in a location (naturally) where putting my hand over the engine will be very difficult.  I will definitely try that before installing ground planes.

2.  I ran the engine very slowly prior to a stop (and then immediate restart) so I don't think it coasted past the bad spot although it is possible.

3.  I have had issues with TMCC control of engines in the past (not stopping, just general control, particularly whistle/bell control) - the engines would be unresponsive to the controller when far away (~ 20 feet) from the Cab1.  I seem to notice this most in the winter - hard to believe it is atmospherics but I guess anything is possible.

4.  I was intrigued by the comment about Legacy working better - I am thinking of upgrading to that controller - any other similar experience?

Again, thanks for your support; happy New Year!!
