Intermountain Train Expo Sandy Utah

This past weekend I went to the Intermountain Train Expo in Sandy Utah.

Here I am with my Son and my Grand Kids

Some of the 3 Rail Layouts

Went to The Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City Rode the train

At the Train Expo I picked up a 41 Gas Turbine Switcher and a 455 Oil Derrick

The 41 Runs well, but is a little noisy. I Lubed her up, but fair amount of gear noise. Is this typical ?

The 455 Looks nice. The Oil Tube bubbles nicely. The Pump Jack is a little jerkey, but works. Anybody have advice as to best voltage setting ? Would there be advantage to running on DC current ?
