Not sure why you repost this and start all over again.  Just because pinouts are the same that is only hardware.  Each board also has software and that is were incompatibilities can be.  The 103/4 E- unit for this run of engines in that time frame is unique.  Most later ones use a DCDR Motor driver which is just hardware chips.  No software.  Takes simple motor drive signals from the R2LC and operates.  This 103/4 has a PIC chip with software so it is different.  If LIONEL can't help you how do you think we can?  If you put all new Lionel parts in this and it still doesn't run in command, what can we do?  Your better off putting a ERR CC or CL in it and be done.  You will have better engine performance with cruise control for far less money.  G

The lionel support document 71-8082-250 has a error, the reset code is 34 not 43 . Got that from Lionel in a e-mail from Dir of customer support . Along with a undocumented wire jumper to add to backplane to take serial data to tender via green wire( J5-1 to J9-2)

Thank you for the help and reply

Are there any pictures of the new configuration of the jumper wire? I have the same engine that we have been running in transformer mode and I just bought a cab-1L to add to the layout.

did you ever have success in getting this upgrade to work? This is my only TMCC locomotive at the moment so I don’t have any other units to test on the layout to see If I connected the receiver to the tracks correctly.

I have some connectors for making servo extensions so I can make the jumper if it uses external pins. If it goes in a connector block I may need to source the correct connector.
