After reading all the discussion about the video shot last Monday on the curve using an iPhone I decided to do my own little experiment today on the way home from the annual Corvettes at Carlisle show.  We took a detour to Altoona and then onto Horseshoe Curve where I shot two pieces of video with my iPhone 4s and uploaded them directly to YouTube without any processing or image enhancement.  These were shot inside the curve and not at the same location as the video from last week when NKP 765 was there.

Here are the results:

And the second video:

Comments welcomed and I congratulate Brandon Denucci (Form D) on an excellent video shot from a lot greater distance than I was today.

Nice videos with the iPhone, Dave!  As I said in the other thread... new technologies have forever changed the way in which images are captured -- both still and video.  Not to mention that these powerful technologies are finding their way into the hands of enthusiasts as well as professionals.

One thing I can't seem to get the knack of though is editing this stuff on anything but the large 30" Apple Cinema Displays that I've been using for years.  Sadly, Apple doesn't make these anymore, and they've been replaced (at least in the Apple product line) with 27" high-contrast (ughhh!!!) screens.    I did try editing video on a 17" Macbook Pro ONCE, but it just wasn't the same.  Manageable? Yes.  Preferable? Definitely NOT.    But I can see where it could come in handy when you're "on the road" and need to stay productive.

Thanks for sharing your test videos.  What's interesting (and impressive) about the iPhone is not only the video capture but also the integrated audio recording capabilities.  Even with some of the latest DSLR's, the general recommendation is to go with an external microphone/recorder -- which, of course, comes in very handy for post when you have a separate audio track.
