My wife and I are building our first Lionel railroad and we just purchased the Chicago & Alton 4-6-2 Pacific Legacy Locomotive.  I'll be ordering the Legacy 990 Command Set shortly and have the 180-Watt PowerHouse on the way.  I really only plan on running Command mode, so I could have gone with the TMCC Direct Lockon, but I figured it'd be nice to keep open the option of Conventional control for the future.  I found a really good price on the TMCC PowerMaster, so I snagged one of those for now and figured that I'd get the Legacy Bridge if/when I would like to do wireless control of Conventional locomotives.  Then I got thinking, why isn't there just a PowerMaster that's directly compatible with Legacy instead of having to go through the PowerMaster Bridge?

Well, I see that Lionel offers the 6-37146 LEGACY PowerMaster, but there's no price and it doesn't seem to be available anywhere.  Since I'm starting from scratch, that seems like it would be the perfect device to have (over the TMCC equivalent).  Anybody know what the deal is with the availability of the Legacy PowerMaster?

Thanks in advance!

You may like to consider getting a TPC-300 or TPC-400 instead of using a Powermaster/Bridge combination. The TPC units will give you the option for conventional control through your Legacy system, and have several other benefits too.

The Legacy Powermaster units should be available next year, but the prices are unknown at present.

and

I could just get a CAB-1L Remote Controller.

that is because they were made before legacy and lionel just did not update paper work.

there is no date for release of the cab1-L and it will not be a cheap as we would like.

like above said use a TPC.  this is what I have, MTH Z1000, and a TPC and the legacy system.  no problems and I can run most everything.
