TMCC is so easy to operate with it's limited command availability, that aside from knowing about the dreaded "black signal hole caused by house wiring and tin hats" I don't know what an in-depth add-on manual would be of much value.

Thus far, knocking on wood here, we've not experienced 1/10th the problems with TMCC we have with DCS.

The DCS add-on information books/forums/etc are a lot of value.

Bill,  yes I would buy the book.  I got it a little over a year ago, and it's a constant companion on the PC near the layout.  The price is very fair and pales by comparison to other train expenses.  The information is well organized, all in one location, and extremely helpful.

Just about everything in Barry's Book is available online except for a few things.... but having said that and me being pretty darn good on the internet, I still bought the book.  The reason is that his book has it all in one place and its in hand!  Barry is the expert on DCS.

Every line from the bible is available online also... but it sure is nice having it all together in the book!

I find the MTH DCS O Gauge Companion Book indispensible in setting up any layout. At the Train Club I am a member of, we will be installing not only the MTH DCS System, but Lionel's Legacy and TMCC Systems. Without this book, we would not be lost, but it would take time to figure out how to work it all.

So, to buy the same, go to Amazon.Com, and order the latest version, namely September 2012 edition. For the price you will pay, it is well worth it.

This is very true. And when I say this I'm not directing it at any particular forum or entity. But in my experience in viewing questions and responces, and asking my own questions, I have come to the realization that it is almost pointless to ask a question that you do not already know the correct answer to. Now you may take all the different answers and average them out to determin which answer is probably the most likely to be correct. Everyone want's to show their knowledge and some have very little, or are misguided. Sometimes, this forum for example, there are several members whose opinion I value and will take their opinion as most likely correct. Of course this is JMHO.
