Is bigger better ?

So I'm thinking about switching from 027 to Lionel Fastrack. My question is, is there a difference in the amount power going through one 30" piece of track compared to three 10" pieces ? The price works out about the same but do you lose something with more 4 instead of 2 connections? Thanks

Yes, less joints is less failures, less voltage loss.

Put another way, always use the longest straight possible and try to minimize the number of joints in track.
