Perhaps Ted Hikel will spot this sand chime in...

Thanks Sam.  Good thing I spotted the Bat Signal.

MTH ScaleTrax uses code 193 for the running rails.  As far as I know that rail size is unique to ScaleTrax.

Here is a look at some custom track work done by my brother Dave.  MTH ScaleTrax is on the left transitioning to hand laid code 148 dual gauge O/On30 on the right.  A you can see, the ScaleTrax rail is quite a bit heavier in appearance than code 148.  That works well here for the dual gauge siding.  Tinplate flanges can handle code 148 and the siding looks much lighter duty than the main line.

Dave and I have also used code 148 for guard rails on bridges and hand laid turnouts to compliment ScaleTrax code 193.

I've never used ScaleTrax myself, but figured the rail size had to be something less than 200.  In Large Scale (G gauge) Code 250 is sometimes used--"regular" G track such as that from LGB, Aristo, and others is Code 332--and in On30 Code 100 or Code 83 is commonly used.  So it kind of stands to reason that most O gauge track would be somewhere between the small On30 rail size and the larger G (Large Scale) rail size.

I was reaching for my calipers but Ted beat me to it.

I keep a piece of Scaletrax 30" Flex here at work with a couple cars on it. The cars are whatever has been delivered most recently.

Scaletrax is far and away the best looking O gauge track in my opinion.

Progress continues on replacing the layout with a new one of Scaletrax and much more trackage.
