Thanks!
Catalogs have been posted to Lionel website.
They have already dissected the Titanic set, now that they have the entire catalog it should be worth the price of a bag of popcorn to watch. And now a bonus, the Flyer guys can jump in..
The RTR and AF catalogs are at the local toy train shop earlier this week.
interesting to see that the cover feature the same train as the MTH RTR 2012 catalog
What, no NS heritage engines!
The S gauge guys must be happy, as it looks like a number of new engines in the catalog.

There are some good looking sets in the RTR catalog.
How about that SP 0-8-0 with a vanderbilt tender? Not sure it's prototypical (who cares, it's a starter set anyway), but it's definitely different
I had both catalogs in my hands today at a hobby shop in Columbus Ohio- Robbies. The SP set with the 0-8-0 and daylight paint vandy tender is all new, at least the tender is. Might be a good set for the **** tree. $399 retail

I just went through it. Some really nice sets. The KCS is first on my list followed by the Halloween separate sale engine and cars. A lot of repeats but if someone was looking to buy a set to go under the tree or give as a gift this year, I think they would find something to like.

Two thumbs up to a beautiful cover. Nice painting of the new Super Chief set.
I like the Grand Central Express, and might have considered buying it if it didn't come with a GCT 100 logo on the loco and observation. The other thing I saw was a B&M milk car. Now that, I'll get. Some of the buildings looked like MPC era structures brought back as ready built items.
I can't get the R-T-R Catalog to download?
Just a comment on the technical aspect of the catalog. It looks like Lionel used a different company/software for the online catalogs this year. It works well online, but when you download the catalog file, it is huge!
For comparison, the 2011 RTR catalog was 69 pages and a 12.2 MB pdf;
the 2012 RTR catalog is 68 pages and a 182.7 MB pdf.
That is 15 times the size of the catalog from last year.
I've been keeping digital copies of the catalogs since they have been available, but prefer the smaller file size. Hope someone from Lionel sees this and makes a smaller file size pdf available.
That Rock Island F unit looks really sharp!
