It should pull that load without much issue, it's a much heavier engine than the 0-8-0 which has a lot of plastic in it. The berkshire is all metal (even the tender, my brother has that set)
The starter set 0-8-0s have a tiny motor and single traction tire. If you want conventional its hard to beat Williams.

Thanks for both. How's the pull out on that Berkshire.Didn't like the fact it does not have a front operating coupler even though the catalog says different or is dual operating couplers something else? Is there a steamer made with 2 engines that negotiate a fastrac 36" curve.
None of the Williams steam engines have operating front couplers. I'm not aware of any steam engine that has more than one motor with the possible exception of some big articulateds.
Just get a POSTWAR 736. It has the power to pull all you need pulled.

The 773 comes with an extra pilot with a dummy coupler (at least the pre-bachmann one I have did)
