The following question has been bothering me for quite a while.....and I've not been able to find the answer in Barry's DCS Companion (but I suspect it's in there!).
So I'm hoping someone can shed some light on my confusion.
If you have two loops of track that are connected by turnouts; but are insulated from each other. And each of those loops of track are divided in 4 blocks each.....is there a wiring rule of thumb that should be followed when connecting those blocks to two separate TIUs; one TIU for each loop? The objective of these track blocks would be to spread power demands across multiple transformers.
For example, 1) should all the blocks of one loop be connected to one TIU and all the blocks of the other loop be connected to the other TIU (then each pair of those TIU ports would be connected to their own transformers}? 2) Or can (should?) the blocks of one loop be spread across both TIUs?
For this discussion, the Variable ports would be used to provide track power allowing the use of both Command and Conventional engines; but NOT at the same time on the same loop.
Also, both TIUs have software version 5.0 installed on them.
