Hopefully this is an easy answer for someone. I was trying to decide whether to keep or sell these and in researching them - couldn't figure out if they are from a single set or not. Couldn't find them listed in a set in my Doyle book. Includes 220 Alco, 6082 gondola, 6825 flat car w girder, 6476 hopper and 6017 caboose. Curious if they were originally from a set and if so details on the set, year, etc...? The Alco AA looks to be from 60-62 era according to Doyle book.

A quick look through my Lionel set book by David Doyle showed no set like this, but could be an uncataloged set through Sears or Montgomery Ward, or one of the smaller retailers. It does look pretty good, especially if the LV hopper is a glossy version. Enjoy it!
Just quickly went through my "Lionel's Promotional Sets" book by John Schmid and there is a set # X-529NA made in 1960 with the cars and engines you have but your set is missing the 3376 Giraffe car.
The set also contained a #110 trestle set and some billboards along with track and a transformer.

A quick glance at the instruction sheet pictured, it doesn't look like a trestle set was included. Very well could be another yet to be verified uncataloged set.
Just checked Greenbergs "Lionel Cataloged Sets" and says that the #220 engines were never included in any cataloged sets!
Thanks! This really helps clear things up. I've been debating letting this set go and part of my indecision came from not really knowing what it was - my books weren't producing any results.
