Here's some pics of a beautiful little switcher I dug out of my box of projects - it appears to be a 1662, but with an add-on drawbar to mate up with post war tenders, I presume (whoever did this should be held accountable, as they say!)

And it does not have the plate and female jacks that accept the plugs from the 2023T. Really can't even tell for certain where the plate would mount, perhaps behind the screw that has double washers and holds the engine to the shell? (see the 3rd pic) 

And the front coupler wire must have been routed back to the plate/jacks, because there's certainly no place for a sliding shoe on the engine.

Can anyone shed some light on these points, like where does the plate go? And why would they hide such beautiful cab detail (trust me, it's there in the shadows) behind a plate?
