Does any one know when Henry will be back on his feet and shiping trains again? I have several engines on order with him. He has had them in his shop for at least two months now and has been unable to ship them.

Now there's a name I haven't heard in awhile. I recall Islands Trains had a website home page (about 5+ years ago perhaps) that looked like the train tickers often seen at the big city train stations which pre-dated the digital era. But now it appears islandtrains.com is no more? What happened?
I've been dealing with lots of health issues with my aging Dad for the past 3 or so years, and time often becomes a huge blur when you're in care-giving mode constantly. So I apologize if this question covers old territory. The last items I remember ordering from Henry several years ago were the Lionel 4-pack and 2-pack passenger cars of the California/Burlington Zephyr. At the time, I even think Island Trains had opened a second store in NJ -- somewhere in the Matawan/Holmdel area as I recall.
As I said, it HAS been awhile... so I hope all is OK with Henry.
Wow! Three dealers with suspended businesses due to illness. Marty Bowersock is still MIA. Bob Thatcher's site is still closed too. And, now we discover something is going on with Henry.
I hope everyone is able to get back on their feet. Just shows what the stress of a small business can do in this economy.

I am sorry to read that Henry is ill.
I used to purchase most of my newly made trains from him when he was doing business as Island trains. He always treated me very well.
I believe he is currently doing business as:

Somebody please let me know if I am mistaken.
I believe closeout trains on ebay is Henry's also.

I used to live in Matawan and years ago I bought some things from Henry on eBay. I arranged to pick the up at the warehouse in Matawan.
He wanted to open a storefront there but faced resistance. Probably from The Hobby Shop in Aberdeen, an Mth megadealer, about a mile away.
I believe they left the warehouse and they now have a store in Middletown.
Henry is a very nice guy, but my impression is he was in over his head. At the warehouse they were shipping pallets of stuff. I've heard others complain they've lost orders. For this reason I would stay away. (not that I'm buying anything these days any way)
I happened to talk with Henry but it was awhile ago, maybe even a couple of years. He'd shut down Island Trains, and had gone to internet/Ebay sales only, and a much smaller operation. Have no idea what's happened since then.
Hi All: I saw and spoke with Henry of Island Trains II in New Jersey just a few hours ago. He has a newer store in Red Bank, NJ, off of US. Rte. 35 South. It is set back at the end of the Mall and inset next to a small resturant. He had some knee issues that have slowed him down a bit, but he is back on a limited basis as he heals. He has had much product turning around both new and older stock, so he has been very busy doing catch-up. You can contact him either through : closeouttrains1@aol.com or lionelstorenj@aol.com Give him a holler, I'm sure he'll have something to sell you. Dennis M.
