Just getting ready to tear it out, Discovered that grand son had pushed the lantern down to hard on switch causing it to bind a little on the bulb . Moved it a little bit, every thing back to normal. grandchildren will leave you surprises. I think my 4 year old grandson does stuff to mess with me. I become the track inspector crew if I have problems after a session with them. Nice to hear it's not only me.
I leave my layout at eye level (for little kids that is) so that they can't reach anything they could damage, but can see everything. Their faces some days, you can tell that it's the best thing since pizza in their minds.
Good catch. I'm finding it pays to 'walk the track' before turning on the power - as I'm always finding 'surprises' on it that would create a short.
