RJ , if you want to cure the passenger car light flickring check out forum member Gunrunnerjohn's passenger LED lighting modules .             I've put them in all my passenger cars with excellent results in stopping the light flickering.

Christmas 1948! Me and my 675 freight set! Still have it all, still runs great!

These pictures are awesome. These trains have stood the test of time; think about all the skills these "toys" helped developed ...electrical, carpentry, mechanical, not to mention the bonding of father and son/daughter.  Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!  The F3 A Units are 1948 2333.  The B unit and the coaches are late model Lionel and MTH.

Reply to Train1872h...and all other posters whose trains are over 70 years old, to put it in financial terms, if these trains were IRA's, they would be required to take minimum distributions!  (Please forgive me, it's a bad Monday morning joke as I log into work and start the day   )

53 years ago I received my first train set. Set #11560 from Lionel. It has 2 Alco AA Texas Special units, horse transport car, a hopper, a gondola, a tanker and caboose. I got it out and oiled it up and ran it today. It brought back a lot of memories. I'm very thankful for my parents for introducing me to this hobby.

Lionel train from 1957 and the helicopter & Giraffe cars from 1958. Everything still works.
