The Cincinnati Union Terminal (Museum Center) opened a few weeks back and it is very exciting.  The Terminal has been going through millions of dollars worth of upgrades and rebuilds for the last 2 years.  When you approach the Terminal, there is plenty of parking (at a very low fee).  The first thing you will notice is the revamped "step down" fountain in the front.  They have put a new floor in this huge fountain.  At night, there are 4 huge digital projectors aimed at the building that show movies on the front wall along with various projected slides of history, etc.  All the concrete in the front and side of the terminals has been renewed.  The price to enter the terminal is $14.50 for adults and a lower price for the kids.  This price includes all attractions except the Lindner Ominimax Theater.  All of the museums are open, especially the Dinosaur Exhibit, outside 3rd rail "O" Scale B&O Layout, food concessions, small theater and Cincinnati Railroad Club Tower A.  All the doors have been cleaned and revamped, a huge American Flag hangs inside the Rotunda.  Plan to stay at least 6 to 8 hours and of course bring the kids.  Yes, there is a small Amtrak Station inside the Terminal that has every other day visits of "The Cardinal"  going from Chicago to Washington DC (extension to New York) and visa versa.  All of Weinhold Reiss fabulous Mosaic Tile Murals have been cleaned and sparkle.  (Bring your camera).  There is not one thing that has not been touched for cleaning and rebuilding in this remodel.  The streetcar ramps on each side of the Terminal also went through the remodel.  You never know, one of these days The  New Cincinnati Bell Connector Streetcar might make a permanent appearance at the Terminal.  You can check out the terminal on You Tube before the remodel, but coming to this Terminal is the only way to go.  You can visit The Beringer Crawford Museum in Devoe Park (Covington, Kentucky) and see the Large Lionel Electric Train Layout. Ride the Ferris Wheel in the Banks in Downtown, Cincinnati, take a Ride on the New Cincinnati Bell Connector Streetcar in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.  Lots of things to do in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Come Visit.    sincerely yours railbear601

I lived in Cincinnati from 1992 until 2005, I loved Cincinnati and had a great time there, except for the riots in 2001. Hence, Cincytrains.  I lived at Davis Trains and miss that store terribly. Thanksgiving weekend in Milford was so fun because of Joe Davis. The CG & E layout was downtown and I would walk and see it at least twice from the courthouse. Cincinnati Museum Terminal was great as the had the big S gauge layout, The O gauge layout from Doug Dubay(SP?) and the diorama's of Lionel from Michael Jordan. I also took the Cardinal to DC a couple of times and they used Superliner cars then. There was also a train store in the Hyde Park section of Cincinnati called Garden Trains, it was on Madison Road. It was a very high end train store. Johnny's Toys in Convington also sold trains and had a real nice layout. Sadly, all are gone now..I would kill for a 4-way from Skyline and a steak from the Precinct!!
