IT's TEAM TRACK TUESDAY!! ... Thanksgiving Edition! Share your railroad's team track photos here!
Team tracks play a vital role in the day to day operations of real railroads. Practically any type of freight car can be on/off loaded on a team track. MOW equipment and some passenger train head end equipment can also utilize a team track. Team tracks are found in remote rural locations, small towns, and large cities.
Share your team track operations here. Photos of real prototypical railroad team track operations are also welcome!
This week, with Thanksgiving Day coming up, the Free State Junction Railroad's team tracks one and two have been busy! Farmers sent a car load of turkey's to market and in a couple days these fine birds will be the culinary center piece of numerous dining room tables. A State of Maine boxcar load of potatoes was set out on team track two. Huge sacks and barrels loads of potatoes are unloaded to be trucked to super markets. Taking in consideration left overs from Thursday's feast, this entire load of spuds will be consumed by the end of this week!
Earlier this week our photographer caught truck loads of produce and pumpkins driving away from the team tracks as they emptied out chocked full boxcars. There's going to be a whole lot of fine eating this Thursday in Patsburg!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone! See ya next week on the TEAM TRACK!!
