IT's TEAM TRACK TUESDAY!!! Share your team track photos here!

Team tracks are a vital part of day to day real railroad operations.  Found in remote rural settings, small towns, and large cities, team tracks allow for the  unloading/loading of practically every type of freight car, some passenger head end equipment and MOW equipment.  Team tracks can also be used as storage tracks for rolling stock of all kinds.

Dateline December 19, 1952  This week on the Free State Junction Railways team track one, located in lower Patsburg, a light snow begins to fall as the  unloading crew is just finishing up with unloading the last of a load of Christmas trees .  It seems everyone is buying Christmas trees this year, some folks even having two trees in their house.  This demand prompted another load of tree to be delivered by Railway Express no less.   With less than one week to go before Christmas hopefully this load of trees will do the job.

The local switch job waits on the far track for the REA car to be swept out before it can pull the car and replace it with another loaded car of Lionel Trains.  Word has it that toy trains are selling like hot cakes here in the Christmas season of 1952!!  Practically every kid in town wants toy trains for Christmas!  Could this be?

Have a wonderful Christmas, a wonderful Chanukah or whatever holiday you choose to celebrate may it bring to you and your family pure joy!!    Thanks for stopping by the team track!IMG_4143IMG_4150IMG_4145IMG_4146IMG_4155IMG_4157IMG_4161IMG_4154IMG_4159IMG_4164
