ITS TEAM TRACK TUESDAY!!!  Team tracks are a vital part of railroad operations.   Team tracks allow for a variety of freight cars to be off or on loaded.

Lets share photos of your railroad's team track activity this week.  Photos of real life railroad team tracks are welcome as well for they serve as prototype inspiration for modeling.  If you miss posting on Tuesday, no worries,  feel free to post any day of the week.  Have a great week!!

This week on the Free State Junction Railway's Patsburg team track we have crabs and beer from Maryland's Chesapeake Bay area.  Also, the big hook has been called in to help out with unloading a flat car with a pipe load.IMG_1715IMG_1688IMG_1707IMG_1709IMG_1695IMG_1688IMG_1684IMG_1687IMG_1680IMG_1683IMG_1686IMG_1683IMG_1692IMG_1701IMG_1693IMG_1700unloading a flat car load of concrete pipes.

These scenes, courtesy of www.trainsarefun.com, were taken at Islip, NY along the Long Island Rail Road. Here we see the products of Velvetop being unloaded from a pair of fifty foot box cars. Utilizing a heavy duty fork truck, a parking lot is employed to transfer the palletized freight to road vehicle for final delivery so, if your layout has a siding adjacent to a parking lot, why not put it to work as a team track?
