IT's TEAM TRACK TUESDAY!!  Post your railroad's team track action here!

Team tracks are a vital part of day to day real railroad operations.  Team tracks provide businesses which not located along a railroad right of way the opportunity to ship and receive freight. The general public can also ship and receive freight by using a team track.   Freight cars of nearly every variety can be on/off loaded on a team track.  Some passenger head end equipment can also be on/off loaded on a team track as can MOW equipment.

Team tracks are found in remote rural locations, small towns and large cities.  Team tracks are sidings or spurs that do not serve a single business, such as the siding/spur leading to a fuel oil dealer or lumber yard.  Those kind of sidings are specific to that business.

This week on the Free State Junction Railway team track one in Lower Patsburg, there is a B&O gondola load of large stone.   The Patrick County Dept. of Highways ordered the stone for repairing  washed out roads.  The gondola was supposed to have been spotted on another team track which provided heavy equipment easier access for unloading the car, however, the paperwork got screwed up and the car was set out on team track one.  The unloading crew had to create a makeshift ramp so the backhoe's bucket could reach inside the gondola.  Loading is somewhat of a slow go and the crew is making the best of it with the equipment that is available to them.

Let's see your railroad's team track action.  Photos of real railroad team track action is always welcome too!

Have a wonderfully creative week!  See ya next week on the TEAM TRACK!IMG_7501IMG_7518IMG_7520IMG_7513IMG_7504IMG_7527IMG_7530IMG_7538IMG_7550IMG_7547IMG_7538

As I didn't save the box, I could not find a manufacturer identity on the bottom of the truck.  I'm sure Diecast Direct would know though ... if you contact them.  It is a pretty cool looking truck and it certainly fits the time frame I model.

Patrick, the blue  44 tonner is a Lionel Postwar (around 1959) B&O. I think the number is 626. A nice peppy single motor engine, but not a great puller. The earlier Postwar ATSF 623 switcher and Postwar Seaboard switcher are heavier and much better pullers.

As I recently mentioned in another post, 3 cats in my house were like Godzillas on my layout for about 2 months, which kept me out of action for a while.
