Eddie,
2nd time at York being a retiree for me. Great knowing I don't get anymore phone calls there about stupid Nabisco cookie/cracker questions from the person covering my territory.
It will be great to see you in one of the halls once again.

Got the hotel secured tonight for Wednesday night through Saturday. Badges will arrive shortly, all I need to do is pack and gas up the transporter to be ready to enter The Vortex of Fantasy that is the York Meet!
Badge is ready, money set aside for a Wabash 2339 with an original box (I hope). York is a wonderful place for friends and trains. Get well Eddie, you are one of the reasons why York is so special.
I just registered a couple of days ago. Can't wait!
It's coming up fast. Looking forward to my fall trip to the Toy Train wonderland in York, PA.
Time is flying by! Early registration ends September 6.
You can always get in even the day of the show but it's gonna cost more.

I guess you'll be skipping the Flyers' home opener as well on Thursday??
My son (14) is none too happy about that but in his own words "missing opening night is ok but if you try this in April and we miss a playoff game I will become a proverbial problem teenager"....lol

Greg, it's funny you mentioned that. We just ordered our Flyers partial season plan and it included the home opener on Thursday night during the York Meet. One year we had the same issue during the playoffs at an April Meet Thursday. But since we'll be at York all three days, we'll do like we did then. We'll exit the Fairgrounds about 5pm on Thursday and drive to the game and return to our hotel in York after the game. And we'll be back in the halls first thing Friday morning!
LET'S GO FLYERS !!!!!
A true fan indeed!!! We'll miss you at dinner Thursday - gonna be a long day for you but definately a lot of fun! I'll at least bring my jersey to wear while watching the game as I was surprised at the number of hockey jerseys I saw there in April. It was fun at least watching the game at the bar even though they lost.

Definitely looking forward to it.
But still trying to get used to being a full time shopper, and not being in the booth selling for old what's his name now living the life of a beach bum in Florida.
The good thing is spending the day on Friday with my grandson walking the halls. And he's happy thinking we're buying stuff because he wants it.

Greg, we ordered out Flyers 50th Anniversary jerseys the other day. We'll be wearing them on Thursday at the Meet!
Excellent!! Those look sharp!

This thread is a real bummer. I'm a 10 yr old kid again anxiously awaiting Christmas Day and my parents break out the annual Advent calendar with 4 weeks to go until the big day. The opening of each day's calendar only goes to sloooowwww to an agonizing pace the inevitable countdown to the big day. For all that is holy in traindom will someone please delete this thread so time can begin moving quickly???

"Moon" is clearly a troll and should be banned from the forum. He claims to be a new TCA member, and his post does not contain any complaints. I've been reading the York and TCA threads for long enough to know that anyone who does those things can't be a real O-gauge guy.
I swear on the Holy Bible I'm not being paid by anyone to say these nice things. But, seeing as how the only lines I have are Polar Express, Polar Railroad and North Pole Central, the part about not being a real O-gauger is probably accurate. That being said, how is this for troll-dom...bringing my wife this time, have reservations at the Red Caboose Motel on the way in, breakfast at the Casey Jones Restaurant, scheduled 1st trip to the National Toy Train Museum, and penciled in time for the Choo Choo Barn before heading off to York. I'm all in on this stuff that I never heard of until I joined the forum.
Still, if I start a thread with a product critique of the new Polar Express Elves Figure Pack when it comes out, you may want to re-open the discussion for a ban.
As soon as York is over someone will make a post about the next 364 day wait. Ah well. As long as I find a postwar LV 44 Tonner I'm happy.

You're probably right (which I have no problem with since I feel the same way as the guys who post how many days until the next York) but the days never go up to 364 because we have the pleasure (at least for now) of going to York twice a year.

The TCA museum is a jewel, and ditto for the Choo Choo Barn (ask for TCA discount). While you're there, try to make time for the Pennsylvania RR museum (it's one of the best) and a ride on the Strasburg Railroad.
Make sure you bring cash to York and have plenty of room in your trunk. And if you see something you want and the price looks good, buy it - if you "think about it", it will be gone when you come back.
And look up Clem's York Primer on the TCA website.

Sounds like you are a "real" O Gauger/train nut to me. Have fun, try to visit the PRR Museum (across the road from the Strasburg RR), and pick out some nice train stuff to give your wife at Christmas.
Less than 1 month to go.
Just purchased my plane tickets. The excitement is building! I take vacation and go home twice a year and that is April and October.
Have a safe trip Ryan!

Looking forward to it. Was noticing that my hotel reservation, made quite some time ago, cost is up quite a bit from prior years. Less $$ for trains and beer.
Looking forward to this coming York !!!!!
Only 390 days........
York is always fun! Keep counting, Eddie!
WOW, only 23 days, I'm getting nervous.
I'm sure everything will go fine Eddie.
I'm like a kid counting down to Christmas Day myself.

There may be hope for next time. While planning ahead for April 2017, I found rooms at one of the well known York bandit meet motels for $60/night (including taxes) if I was willing to pay now - non-refundable. Opted to pay $10 more per night for a refundable reservation.
I remember the days when you had to reserve a room a year in advance.
Badge arrived in today's mail so it's "official" for me
Taking the York charter bus from Da'Bronx (Friday only). Hopefully this time without the after-effects of bad seafood on the previous day
Registered online 8/30, got my badge yesterday. Had me worried for awhile there...
