My Xmas tree found a ives tan 3236r with 170,171,172 cars for the bare area below it. But it doesn't know much about prices on early standard gauge. Its in played with condition not terrible but dosen't look to need to be restored yet? Any help on what's a good price for this set would be much appreciated!

But it sure looks great under the tree!!! Enjoy it and Happy Holidays!!!

Agreed....

This set is also usually flaked pretty bad.  The tan does not hold up well.

A nice version of the set without flaking and other paint issues would bring the value up.

That being said, it is a good way to get into Ives on the cheap and enjoy the trains for what they are.

The motor in that loco runs butter smooth when cleaned and lubed proper.
