This goes back to a visit to Frenches train shop in Baltimore back in the 70's: I saw an 0 gauge tinplate 0-4-0 Docksider tank engine by Ives that was factory painted brown with a 3 position e-unit and built back in the 20's. I liked it because the first real steam engine I saw when I was a kid was the B&O Docksider and the first Varney kit I built was their "Little Joe". I've never seen one since and have never seen a picture of one in any Ives book. The recent Bing tank engine topic brought it back to me. Has anybody else ever seen one? Just curious. Thanks.

Doc Robbie's book Made in the Ives Shops is an exhaustive collection of photographs of Ives trains.  The only brown steam engine he has listed is an 0-4-0 standard gauge steam engine with a matching tender. I must admit I've never heard of an Ives Docksider but that, by itself, only represents a sample survey by one person - it's a shame you don't have a picture of the engine it would be interesting to see.
