A thread at "3-Rail O Gauge" about renumbering a Reading T-1 reminds me that plans for a proposed Jersey Central 4-8-4 were consulted as Reading and Baldwin designers prepared to construct Reading T-1's. I cannot find any information about plans for a Jersey Central 4-8-4. Does anyone have details?

The Jersey Central did not have any 4-8-4s.
There has been "talk" over the years that CNJ was seriously considering both
4-8-4 and 4-6-6-4 types in the early '40s. B&O experiences with FT sets
derailed the possibility of any new steam for Lady Liberty.
Sam - Ziggy says you can't return until you set things right with the CNJ. You need to persuade management to purchase at least one 4-8-4.
