As I alluded to in my earlier post regarding the Flickr page set up featuring a SMALL portion of his Binghamton, NY area work (shot from 1958 until his departure from the area in 1995) we (JJ Young, III and myself) have a MAJOR announcement to make regarding the remainder of his slide and negative collection which had been with his wife Liz in Charleston, WV.
As a result of the Flickr page and its popularity along with all the work which has gone into preserving JJ's Binghamton area images, we have been given access to the REMAINDER of JJ's negative and slide collection. This development is HUGE news for the preservation of this prolific and outstanding photographers images. The project will take several years to complete (what has been posted already has consumed over 2 years of work) as there are literally THOUSANDS of negatives to be done.
I have added four images so far to JJ Young, Jr.'s Flickr page from his steam era photography. JJ started taking photographs when he was 7 years old in 1936. He passed away in 2004.
