Just got this set for our grandson and am wondering if there is a way to adjust the volume - it is WAY too loud! I have 3 Flyerchief engines that have adjustable volume and thought Lionchief would be the same. Can the volume be adjusted on this engine or is there a way to easily mute it slightly?

I had a Lionchief steamer. No volume adjuster. I put TAPE over the speaker opening until I had the volume low enough. A couple of minutes and you are done.

I have put electrical tape over the speaker. You can’t see it, since it is underneath, depending on volume, you might need more than one piece, but should not need to cover the entire speaker.

Is it a recent LionChief model w/Bluetooth?
The most recent LionChief set I have lets your use the Announcements button on the remote (which doubles as a shift button) to change the volume. Make sure the engine is stopped, hold shift, and rotate the throttle knob...clockwise for more volume, counterclockwise for less volume.
I think it is from the '16 RTR catalog and not Bluetooth compatible. I will try it though and see if it works.

Sorry, Bobby! I don't recall and have to check with my grandson to see what I did. I'll let you know. I hope to visit him in the next couple weeks.
I used tape over the speaker as suggested. Apparently using the remote did not work. Sorry I didn't post this sooner.
