As many of you know, I've never been one to sit back and be content with what we've done over the years at Notch 6. So this year I want to try and put together a special event that listeners to our podcast and friends from the forum can get together for a very special experience with Pere Marquette 1225. Join Derek Thomas and his family for this unique Christmas experience behind the Pere Marquette 1225 Berkshire steam locomotive. We have reserved three cabooses (cabeese, caboose) to be coupled directly behind the locomotive. Our group will be joining the Steam Railroading Institute for their inaugural Santa Express on December 22nd at 2PM Eastern Time.
As a very special part of this trip, one member of our group will randomly be selected to take home a Lionel 6-84685 scale Polar Express Berkshire steam locomotive (Retail value of $1499.95).

The Santa Express is a brand-new Christmas excursion and a new adventure for the Pere Marquette 1225! Downtown Owosso will be getting into the holiday spirit with the Christmas Extravaganza on December 22nd and everyone’s invited! Food, shopping and surprises will be around every corner. Of course, a party like this isn’t complete without an appearance from Santa Claus as a special guest. The only problem is that he’s gotten himself lost while traveling from the North Pole! It’s now up to the 1225 to embark on her most important job in 75 years; find Santa and bring him back to Owosso in time for the Extravaganza! But she can’t do it alone…
Hop aboard and depart from the Steam Railroading Institute on a ROUND TRIP journey behind the Pere Marquette 1225 to search for old St. Nick and meet him yourself! Along the way, enjoy a variety of activities onboard the train; from games to caroling, plus treat yourself to a cup of hot cocoa and special homemade cookies in hopes to help rescue the lost big-man himself from the Michigan winter-weather. There’s no time to lose, join the 1225 on the most magical mission to save the Christmas Extravaganza by climbing onboard the Santa Express!
Please Note: The Santa Express is a brand new, entirely different excursion from the North Pole Express. The Pere Marquette 1225 will head out to find Santa and will return with him for the Christmas Extravaganza in Historic Downtown Owosso.
All attendees in our group are required to purchase a spot through our Notch 6 Media / Madison Poster regardless of age as we have a maximum capacity per caboose.
