......would one have to build to keep one switcher busy, have a couple of challenging moves and not "take too long" to "run"? Or said another way, entertain a few guys and not get old thus leaving them tired of the idea.
I've read articles about small switching layouts as small as 4x8. I guess it really depends on how much activity you want and the type and number of industries on your proposed layout. I suspect that you would want it large enough so that it doesn't look overcrowded.
