Welcome to the forum!

As you get back into the O gauge hobby you will find a great deal of assistance readily available here.

Just take your time; study all the options as best you can; and start out slow/small when you get around to building your layout.  The small layout can always be planned and built for future expansion.

The options available to the O gauge hobbyist today are staggering, and can be overwhelming.  Just choosing the track system that's right for you can require a good bit of research because there are a number of good ones available.

The same applies to power sources--conventional which you know about and command control which may be new to you--so before you make a big investment, take time to ask questions and study the options.

Ditto for motive power and rolling stock.  There's more available today than ever before in the long history of O gauge.  My recommendation is to select a theme for your modeling to help narrow down the huge variety of choices.  You might select a particle era, steam or diesel power, a favorite prototype road that you would like to model, or something else along those lines.

Just take your time and ask all the questions you care to.  You'll find plenty of folks willing to come forward to assist.
