Over the past few years, I have been collecting engines, I have about 30 different engines, all conventional, Lionel, williams, K-line).  I collected them, because the designs are just amazing and I loved the way they look and feel. Fast forward several years, I am now planning on setting up a layout (thinking 16X10). All I have is a simple oval track and the MRC pure dual transformer, they where used to run the trains during the holidays.  My questions are, If I want to use the Lionel Legacy system, is it possible and if so what do I need to do. Also what about tracks. Assume I don't know much, but can get whats needed and willing to learn.

Thanks

Hi caljah,

You would need the 6-14295 #990 legacy Command Set and the 6-37146 Legacy Powermaster. You can view the detail on the products on the Lionel website or the Lionel 2014 Track and Power catalog.

This will give you the ability to control your conventional engines remotely and provide the foundation for entry into Legacy engines and control.

You can use your MRC and the track that you have to get acclimated.

Then, you can take it as far as you like.  Visit the 3-rail forums to get a taste of where you can go. You can even convert your favorite engines to Command Control.

Have fun and show off those nice engines you have running on a layout.
