A picture is worth a thousand words or so they say. It is grounded to the outer rails but nothing else except thru the screws. Is this just a ballast block, if so why ground it.
I would think that is just a ballast block for better traction. I think anything metal next to electronics needs to be grounded so it won't static fry the circuits near it in the event of a buildup!
Steel weight block of individual stamped steel plates sandwiched together by two screws also since the steel is conductive electrically the engine ground is attached to one screw.
Well dang now you have me thinking of another question. The motor has 2 wires a red and black from the circuit board. I was thinking that the polarity of these wires was reversed to obtain reverse, that being the case does the motor need to be grounded? Or is it where the circuit board sends power to the black or red to control direction with a grounded motor.
