Awesome, impressive, amazing, and USA loyal!. Hope I can do the same finding the elusive williams M-103 set! Lol

I give up.  What is the elusive Williams M-103 set?

Well Bill, it's a passenger set that meets all my needs. Madison heavyweights in NYC green that negotiates 027 radi

I remember watching part of that set run around the layout at M&G Hobbies eons ago.  The flag tips were just sharp enough to start shredding the inside tops of the Lionel tunnel portals.  Took me a while to figure out it was happening.  (I noticed some weird long, things on the roofs of the passenger cars. And, took a few minutes of critical watching to actually see it as it was occurring.)

This is a really early set.  First production runs.  At least you can have a picture.  Apparently there is a much later copy of this set that was made in China.  I guess that is the M-103 set4797.1IMG_4801.1

Way back in 2001 when K Line introduced this series, the local TTOS division (of which I was secretary) gave the engine and first 5 cars away as a raffle prize.  I did not win the raffle and could not afford the cars at the time.  I was, however, deeply smitten by the train and vowed to one day own them.  I now have the complete collection along with MTH GS-4 and T1 in freedom colors and now the 3rd Rail T&P 610 to power the train.  And it only took 17 years!  With the Lionel entrance, generator, and scale diner cars introduced this year, there are only a few cars left to make the train complete.  For now I am using modified MTH freedom train baggage cars for the exit and tool cars and am looking for a heavy weight baggage for the T1 tool car.

My next project is to model the 3 flat cars.  I am compromising on size using 68 ft vs 85 ft flats which will only carry 3 containers but I think they will fit with the spirit of the model.  I have the cars, containers and decals but still need the time to do the modeling.
