Picked up a bunch of K-Line freight cars for a song, but ALL of them have defective knuckle springs in the couplers. Are these couplers similar/identical to the Lionel, as far as springs and rivets go?
I fixed a K-Line freight car one time with a Lionel release lever as the original K-Line lever was just a bit short and would let the coupler open at random.
If the rivets fit, they should work. I have truthfully never had a genuine replacement K-Line rivet, and I have also never bothered to note the difference. I just remove the old rivet and spring and replace them. My 3rd hand comes in real handy for the spring replacement.
