I have a questions about the K-Line K3380-3768 PRR K4s Torpedo Steam Locomotive. Is it scale size or a shorty? Thanks Gene

It is smaller than scale. It's also painted maroon; the prototype was dark green (DGLE, aka Brunswick Green). That said, I have one and it's a nice little locomotive. Looks good at the head of a set of Rail Chief cars, which is what I use mine for. It would also be good for a set of shorty Fleet of Modernization cars.
I have the DGLE Shrouded K4 that came with the K-Line Worlds Fair set (aluminum FOM cars). It is semi-scale (larger than traditional). No cruise, but great looker -runner -smoker.

I have the green version which I think was offerd thry the K-Line collectors club which I bought at York from a Dealer I believe from Baltimore that was selling both the Green and Tuscan versions at a closeout around 2003. It had me wondering because MTH lists there Premiere version 20-3473-1 K-4 Torpedo Loco & Tender 22 inches long and my K-Line is also about 22 inches long. I use mine to pull a string of the Railking 16" streamline passenger cars.
I didn't know K-Line made a green one. You learn something new every day. Anyway, I'm happy with my maroon one. It goes great with the Rail Chief tinplate cars, which aren't prototypical either!

Just a note about color, the Torpedo was in a non green color, a bronz-tuscan something... when first built, then was repainted to the Pennsy Engine Green. So, the MTH and K-Line engines, painted in the non green color are correct...
By the way...if someone has one of the K-Line engines to sell, I am interested.
