Hi y'all, it's been a while since I've posted here.

I have an A-B-A set of F7 units from K-Line done up in a Lackawanna scheme. They are nice looking, sounding, and running engines, the only problem are the lights. The headlight, MARS light, and marker lights do not operate. Both units cab lights do operate. Sometimes these lights come on and off at randoms times, but they never stay on long. I've tried AUX2 and nothing happens. I know K-Line isn't known for high quality in their electrical department, but does anyone know if there's a way to fix this?

Those engines use Lionel electronics but they also have a separate board that drives the mars lights. You should remove the shell and look for loose connections.

I wiggled the connector wires and eventually got them to come on for a second. The MARS light never kicked on but I had headlight and marker lit. These units get hooked up in a line using connectors between each unit. The other A unit also doesn't have working lights, I'm thinking it's either connection or board issue.

The headlight is driven by the radio board. I suspect the markers are on all the time but the mars light has its own little board. The radio board can only drive one special function. It can drive smoke, mars light, or cab light. Since your engine has smoke the radio board can't be used for the mars light. Thats why a separate board is needed. You may have a problem in the tether as well as the mars light board.
