It now runs fine on "clear" track but stops on switches, remote sections, etc/

Hello, I've attempted unsuccessfully to repair a K-line switcher's intermittent, sudden stopping or reversing on my layout. It works perfectly on stationary test stand.    The problem started after I replaced a broken off coupler.  I thought I might have broken a pick up wire, but don't see one.  Also, the "buttons" for uncoupling, touching the track;  I covered them with tape for a test, but the problem continues. Any thoughts.

It sounds like a broken wire to me. I would take the shell off and run it, see if the light flickers when it stops or changes direction. If it does, you are definitely getting a power interruption to your reverse board. I would remove the e-clip and check the wires in the truck where they are soldered onto the copper strips and check the wires on the board.
