I have a K-Line UP RPO car, which I am running with the three MTH mid 1990's Primer cars I recently bought.

I noticed this about the car.  The trucks are painted GREY instead of silver.  And the grey seems to be a lighter tint than on the MTH cars.  Was K-Line correct with these issues.  I am running the RPO amyway.  I can say the gray got sun-bleached!

The UP decreed passenger car trucks to be painted silver beginning in 1958.

From the Utah Rails website:

On June 18, 1958, D. S. Neuhart issued instructions that "whenever passenger equipment is shopped or trucks are removed from cars for any other purpose, present paint should be completely removed and trucks repainted with one coat of Chromate Primer CS-22 No. 38 followed by two coats of aluminum paint CS-22 No. 28."
