Definitely not!
And that begs the question, Why not? The 2 rail version must have a Kadee attached. Why would the 3 rail version not have the mounting holes that must be present on the 2 rail tender?
I had to drill and tap the tender.
The locomotive was surprisingly easy though. The Kadee shank fit into the hole for the original scale coupler and could be affixed with the same screw. I thinks this was just freakish good luck rather than it being manufactured with this in mind.
