I picked one of these Lionel #600's at a recent swap meet. It was in good shape but rather bare bones as many 600's were. It is a "cranky" runner. I thought the armature was bad but it checks out and the e-unit seems to be working. I have been told that these were Not the best locomotives Lionel made during this era! Should I just remove the armature and use it as a dummy. I don't want to spend a lot on it as I did not pay a lot for it!
