Did you the 4-8-4 in the maintenance area towards the end of the video. Most everyone was setting up for the open house or prepping their steamers for today.
Thank you for posting the video. great live steamers
There's a double headed steam video on my facebook page from a few years ago. Hoping to post some pics from the meet today as soon as I get them.
That's great seeing kids enjoying trains! Maybe they'll be hooked for life. Good to see you enjoying your hobby together with your son.
Might want to suggest to the Little Engineer to watch ahead much more than he was doing. Got a feeling things can also go wrong on U-ride-'em trains just like the big ones. It would suck to run over a piece of debri/whatever that fell off the previous train and end up puttin' 'er in the ditch!

I noticed that also, plus there didn't seem to be any speed reductions going thru turnouts own yard limits. Sure is a great looking "layout" though.
Hot Water:
Yes, I was impressed with the "layout" too! The sounds of U-ride-'em trains can't be beat in regards to resembling the real deal.
I once found a U-ride-'em video on YouTube of a guy that was clearing snow using his live steam Mogul shoving a wedge plow. Had lots of slips and slow, hard, chuffs... backing up and ramming the snow... steam and condensate... it was very entertaining!
Superwarp: Had a chance to finish the video and I saw that, you too, noticed that Casey Jr. ought to be watching out front! Still great to see kids having fun with trains, and you have an opportunity to teach them good habits while doing so!
To me, that's what it all about, father and son together doing things together. Great video for Fathers Day!
SuperWarp,
If you tried to post a picture, it did not come across at 1st, now the video has posted!
Father and sons running/riding Fathers Day Trains together, it does not get any better than that!
Now that kind train can spoil a Kid badly! Congrats on providing your boy with a world most only dream about. Fantastic stuff.

Super Warp: excellent historic footage of the last run of Maine Central 4-6-2 #470. Thanks for posting! Including all streamlined passenger equipment!
In the start of the video I was doing my version of the "Lincoln Funeral Train".....Was a fun 2 days for the Pioneer Valley Live Steamers Father's Day weekend open house.
images of the meet can be viewed here.

This headlight is from the first Boston & Albany Berkshire. Far as I know the only surviving piece from any of the B&A steamers. Would love to get my hands on this light. It now sits in the workshop at the club.
Two very lucky boys.
Thank you for posting this enjoyable video.
Thank you Gary and Avery. Very nice operation. Gary next time do a selfie.
I would but I don't want to break the camera
