Have to share a very positive experience with ETS Trains in the Czech Republic. I placed an order on Saturday, April 21st, received a tracking number on the 23rd and amazingly the trains were delivered to my house on the Thursday the 26th. I ordered three beer reefers (european of course) and a box car. They were extremely well packed (basically double boxed with a lot of cushion) and arrived perfectly. I ordered the cars with knuckle couplers and high rail wheels and they are flawless. I ordered them right after York because ETS was supposed to be at York but didn't make it this spring. They assured me they will be back at York this fall. I will try and post some pictures of my newest acquisitions soon. BigRail

I have on more MTH tinplate engine on order. After that my next locomotive will be from ETS, still not sure which one. I have two cars from them that I found at a hobby shop here in the US and I am very impressed.
I too have my eye on an engine or two. I also stopped by their factory about 10 years ago. Fantastic people. I love that they offer the knuckle couplers and high rail wheels. I came home with an electric engine on that trip. Every customs agent I passed loved seeing the train. Prague is such a beautiful city. Can't wait to go back. BigRail
Howdy,
After reading a review about ETS in the TCA Quarterly last year I just had to get some product. It is very well made. A few folks have mentioned that it is a little more toy-like in appearance. This is fine by me and it is probably just the units I selected. I would love to get one of their electrics and have it work off my overhead. I am very pleased with my little train Made in the Czech Republic!

Although I no longer own any ETS trains, I am a BIG fan of their products. I did a review of a couple of ETS sets for OGR years ago, well before I became editor of the magazine. They were good then, but have improved markedly in the intervening years. And I always enjoyed meeting and talking with Gustav at York.
And they make a bier car with the original and greatest Pilsner bier: PILSNER URQUELL! NOTE: Since the Brewery went over to brown bottles and now does cold shipping, bottled Pilsner Urquell now tastes almost as good as draft! Here in Nashville, we have a Bier Garten within three blocks of my home that has it on tap! Of course, doing away with the original oak fermenters altered the taste somewhat!
Do you have to buy from the factory or is there a USA distributor?

I have the same type of loco with the tender. Mine is older and name I believe is "Gloria".
Have a bunch of cars al with the Lionel knuckle couplers and trucks.
Had to order parts for the Loco, boiler front doors and some other items. Parts were reasonable priced shipping is a bit more, but you do what you need to do to make a train complete.
Picked up the small steeple cab engine shell on ebay and using a K-Line power truck to make it operational, Yes they do carry parts for this too. ETS is a good example for other manufactures to follow
