Another couple and the wife and I attended two train shows yesterday. The first was in Kutztown PA which was well attended with a good variety of most gauges. the weather was beautiful. My wife picked up a little battery operated steam engine for our 2 yr old grand daughter. Her friend also got one for her grand son. I picked up a Lionel 250 W ZW for a friend who just the day before asked me to look for one for his son in law. I also got an American Flyer flat car for my brother. My friend got a nine car set of K Line Collector's Club steel passenger cars.
We headed to our favorite place for cheese steaks, the Port Clinton Hotel, just north of Hamburg. Port Clinton is the home of the Reading & Blue Mountain RR, which is behind the hotel. Not sure what was running, but smoke was rising from somewhere on the tracks. Port Clinton is also where the Appalachian Trail crosses PA Rte 61, just south of the hotel. There were several vehicles parked in the lot on the west side of the highway.
We then headed to Myerstown Pa for a small street show hosted by Brian's Model Trains. From there, we went to Allentown to a produce market before returning home, it was a great day!
The next Kutztown show is May 15th, with 2 more shows scheduled for the summer.

The Kutztown show was lots of fun. I went with my son and daughter and it was a beautiful day to walk outside. I picked up an Atlas O Clicquot Reefer and a Three Mile Island boxcar. I'd only seen pictures of the TMI boxcar before. Now it lives in front of my Lionel Nuclear Reactor. My son picked up some LGB. Inside Reningers my daughter found a candle and we even found a breadbox that my wife asked us to keep an eye open for.  All in all time well spent. I will be going back in May.

Went to the show yesterday with a couple friends, had a great time, well worth the 200 mile drive even though I did not make any special purchases. It is hard for me to find PostWar that I don't already have (I'm not a variation guy)- but I enjoyed looking at the wares and talking to people.

I did find a couple Plasticville apartment buildings, and an American Flyer dealer stopped me and handed me a PostWar Lionel control button and bumper saying "Please take this Lionel junk for me, I don't want it on my table" -very cool guy.

I was looking for some sitting people to paint and put into a Troop Carrier truck I bought last week but did not find any.

Looking forward to the next show there in May
