Working Man Blues, and coal and oil drag pulled by an MTH Proto 2 Pennsy Turbine:

Please share any trains that you feel express your appreciation for working men and women and Labor Day.  It would also be great if you can combine that with music, which I will endeavor to continue to do for your entertainment this holiday weekend.

If I can successfully post this train and song, it will be perfect for Labor Day.

Oh, great, I did it.

Train is a smooth running K Line Chessie System diesel hauling coal and oil.

The song is awesome: very popular in the 1950s, great melody and lyrics regarding very hard work and not getting paid enough for it. The song is an anthem for the hard working laborer. Great singer who had his own TV show in which he sang this song on every show. I was a little kid when this song was a big hit and I loved it.  And the best hint of all: the singer's first name is the same as a State in the United States! Enjoy:

Yes, of course, this great song is Sixteen Tons sung by the great Tennessee Ernie Ford!

Remembering all the Italian immigrants (my grandfather & grand uncles included) who emigrated to the states in the early 20th century and worked on the railroads.  Where do worka John?

Being part Italian (on my father's side of my family),  I loved it.  Great song, thanks for sharing it, Coal Cracker.
