i have a bascule bridge and under it I am going to cut out the foam for a lake or a inlet it will go from the wall to the first siding track should I cut it straight and put in retain walls of some sort or should I do round more like a lake please advise me on what you think.

I think I would go with retaining walls more like a canal. Maybe park a small boat. If you eventually put up a back drop on the wall you could have a lake painted there. How's the bridge working?
Thanks for the reply that's what I was thinking inlet with a retaining wall. What would any one build retaining wall out of? the bridge works awesome glad I used it.

Depends on how large the area.. If its small go with retaining wall. To do a lake well requires some surrounding dry/ marshy areas, and unless its a quarry or dammed river, almost level with the land form.
Here's what I did in a very similar situation. (Hint: The solution involves a mirror.)
The walls are hand-scribed pink foam.
