Maker Stock. .024" o .250"  In my opinon, the highest quality thin plywood.  High quality defined as high density, uniformity, strength,  thickness consistency, and accuracy,

I recommend avoiding any vendor beginning with the letter A.

Thank you very much on that info. I understand the letter a for sure.

Is there a particular wood like Basswood

What is a good variety of thicknesses to purchase for buildings

I am a newbie at this.

I just got my 20W S1 this week after their nice sales. I used their XCS software a little bit tonight and was able to use a grid array to create some replacement windows for one of my buildings. I tried cutting some .020” styrene but I would not recommend it. The fumes are turbo nasty.

I may order some of the material John was kind enough to post above. Right now I have some heavy card stock on its way to me and some adhesive backed RC board from Rail Scale Models in .017” and .020” thicknesses coming too.  I want to make windows for some upcoming projects and I’m thinking .020” is a good thickness (just about 1” in O scale).

I installed Lightburn but have yet to try it. I’m probably at the point where I need to snag a Windows laptop to dedicate to my workbench for all my 3D and laser projects. I have come to respect and admire my Thinkpads that I use for my working life so I may try to find one for under $1000 if possible.

Today I hope to do some material tests and figure out how I will manage the project workflow. This is quite a bit different from 3D printing in many ways. I also have to make a 4” vent adapter because I don’t really know what size they put on this thing.
