I have a Legacy Base and Cab-2.  I converted a Williams FA-1 ABA to TMCC using ERR Cruise Commander in the B unit (motors located there) and a Mini Commander Ex in each A unit for lighting and directional headlights.  Each unit has a different ENG address.  To run the ABA as a unit I created a TR or lash-up.  Programing the lash-up went without a hitch.  The issue is when I let the lash-up sit idle after starting.  After a few minutes have gone by, the lash-up becomes unresponsive.  Sounds are still present, but the Cruise Commander and Mini Commander will not respond to the throttle.  I can attempt to reinitialize communication by reentering the TR number and pushing Aux 1, but nothing happens.  I can't shut the lash-up down because it is not communicating with the Cab-2.  The only way I can reestablish communication is to kill power to the track and restart the lash-up.  Then everything is fine until another couple of minutes pass and I have to repeat the process.  Kind of a groundhog  day scenario.  Anyone have any ideas or clues as to what the issue might be?  Thank you in advance for you suggestions.

GRJ,

Running all three at the same using the same engine address is going to be my solution if the lash-up issue cannot be resolved.  I have done this with other like engines both being powered with the same address as I didn't see a benefit addressing them as a lash-up.  I did reverse motor leads on the second powered unit though.  To answer your question if this issue occurs when I operate the unit addressing just the powered unit with the engine command, the answer is this issue never occured.

Thank you for your input.

I guess what you were trying to tell me just went over my head.  I'm thinking I might have done something wrong?

You did nothing wrong.  "Lash-up" is not a real railroad term, even though Lionel uses it, and has for a billion years.

Rich hates it, but knows it's in Lionel's stuff.

Some forum members can't help themselves but to point out when someone uses the term.

Pay no attention to them.

No, you didn't do anything wrong. Rich used to go postal when someone used the term "lash-up" but apparently has has come to accept it. I was just making a joke.
