The last two passenger trains into the old Raleigh (former Southern Railway) station. The first is train 91, the Silver Star, southbound. The second and last is train 78, North Carolina Piedmont Service. Will show first train out of the new Raleigh Union Station tomorrow morning.

I'm usually in Raleigh about every other month for business, and I usually stay at the Downtown Marriott. When I do stay there, I always make it a point to walk around this station and several of the other local RR sites. Any idea what will happen to this station now that the new one has opened?   I like how they repurposed the old Seaboard station on the north side of downtown.

Will be demolished in short order, unfortunately....  Mainline will be rerouted away from the platforms.  The sheds will go to the New Hope Valley in Bonsal.
